Rain!

It's raining! There is actual, god honest, real rain falling outside my
window! There is even thunder and lightning :-)

This makes me very happy after several days of high temps and icky humidity
because we might actually get some sensible weather back. Yay!

In other work-related news, everything that I'm working on has got stuck in
the morass of our IT systems and there is nothing that I could do that would
take less than the twenty minutes remaining of my day. So I'm a little bored
and stuck. And Internet Explorer has stopped displaying images, which is
annoying and silly.

But hey, there's rain. I don't even care about the mess it's probably making
of the motorway because I'm so hopeful of an improvement in the temperature.
Maybe I'll even get some sleep tonight!

I'm the exact opposite... absolutely LOVING this weather. It's still not quite warm enough for me but getting there. ;)

Suddenly going off the idea of ever going anywhere near where you come from. As far as I'm concerned it's gone beyond hot into unbearable and I might slit my throat if it doesn't stop soon.

Heehee... I consider this 'nice late Spring' weather.

And then we have 3 months of EXTREME heat.

In my dictionary it's extreme at the moment! But then I've never experienced anything above the low 30s and really have no desire to either.

Two years ago we had two days of extreme heat, 38 degrees and then 41 degrees. I spent the hottest day at the shopping centre.

But when Nic told me how hot it's been in England, I was like 'dude, really, it happens after I leave'.

I remember at Christmas my Australian friends in NSW were telling me how it was about 45, really not nice.

I spent the hottest day at the shopping centre.

At least you have good air conditioning over there - although in all fairness you need it more than we do :)

'dude, really, it happens after I leave'.

Ah, so it's your fault :)

Yep, my fault, for my next trick I'll make it snow here.

*squishes eyes* OK, maybe not.

Can you send some of it west please? It's still sunny here (I think, I'm on the other side of the room from the windows)

It's quite nice out now...

My landlady finds the weather at work different to here and she only worked 20mins away.

They have thunder and ligtning in England? It does happen in England, cool. ;)

I guess it was a bit of a difference from the weekly tropical storms we get here when it's summer, so I missed the storms, and still miss them because it's winter and I won't see a storm (in almost over 1 year) until September when it warms up.

Oh, it's cold here. But since it's an average of 22 degrees during the day, you might not think so, but the nights are nasty without any heating.

Usually we get them when it's been really hot and humid (like now!). Generally the heatwave breaks once you've had the thunderstorm, but not always. We also get them in the winter when the weather's just horrid and a thunderstorm just makes it that little bit worse :)

it's an average of 22 degrees during the day

22 degrees sounds perfect to me :)

So what temperature is it during the night if you need heating?

It gets down to 4/6 degrees. But usually an average of 8/10. I guess. In the morning it's freezing. But I live in wooden house with big windows, fortunately I have carpets, so it's tolerable.

I find we get about six weeks of discomfort with winter because the houses are built for the hot temperatures and they are designed to keep the house cool and move any heat outside.

That is cold, in comparison to 22. Especially if you like 32 degree heat :)

Even though it's quite temperate here, we have the opposite problem - although the summer doesn't last for 6 weeks, thank goodness!
