Bored, bored, bored

I am bored. Very bored. Absolutely, mind-numbingly bored.

Our data warehouse decided to slow to a very slow crawl at 8.45am so
I'm left staring at a tracker ticking very, very slowly.

I'm not used to feeling like this on a Monday. Usually I'm battling
system issues and trying to put together my big report with barely
enough time to eat, never mind feeling bored.

But I'm without bosses today and the warehouse is dog slow, so I can't
get on with my big report because it needs data from that really slow
tracker and nobody is even chasing me for things! I was assured that
today would be hell and that was why they wanted me to work on Sunday,
but right now I'm looking at total boredom.

Sadly, this means that I'll probably be run off my feet when the
tracker finally finishes and won't get out of here at any reasonable
time, despite a morning of being bored with nothing to do. 'Cos
everything else that I need to do involves the data warehouse and
might slow my tracker down. So...bored.

Maybe I could goof off and peek at LJ rather than writing email posts
about how totally bored I am...

I'm bored too. Even though I have a thousand things to do (at work), I just can't bring myself to care. Or actually do them.

*g* About an hour after I posted this, my trackers returned data and I spent several hours being run off my feet. I did kind of have a few bits and bobs that I could have been doing while I waited, but I was in the same situation as you - couldn't bring myself to care about them or do them, even though I was bored.

I was also tired, and it's oddly difficult to motivate yourself out of boredom when you're tired.
