I will have Doctor Who babblings tomorrow - too tired today to have intelligent thoughts beyond "squeee!".
Saw the consultant yesterday and we've tweaked my meds a little to see whether there's any improvement in the side-effects. Hopefully the changed dose won't reduce the pain relief too much. He's also decided to send me for a scan, which is booked for Wednesday, to completely rule out any disc problems. It's a just in case thing. He's still pretty sure that it's just muscular problems that are causing the pain. The good news is that I've got an appointment with the acupuncturist at the end of the month so hopefully we'll start to get the pain under control whatever is causing all this.
Just to help myself, I seem to have wrenched my shoulder in the night and it's now getting rather stiff and sore. Go me :-)
On the job front, the interview didn't pan out for the possible job I was babbling about at the beginning of the week but the same agency has a possible position in my town that they want to get me in for. Which would be good because the commute would be much more pleasant. Friday was one of those days where the combination of commute (hell due to traffic problems) and issues at work made for a rotten, long, exhausting day so I really do have to get out. The sooner the better, and I need to stop feeling guilty about wanting to leave.
On the up side, I have a day's holiday booked for Friday which will be absolutely lovely :-)
And I have a beautiful new fountain pen that actually works so I'll probably be doing some writing this week. No, I'm not really geek enough to be inspired by the posession of a lovely new pen :-)

Date: 2006-05-15 04:40 am (UTC)Here's hoping about a job closer to home. I'm now looking for the same, although in my case, it's a job period.*g*
Shoulder-wrenching. :( {{{{{{{{ hugs you }}}}}}}}} Damn things hurt.

Date: 2006-05-15 07:10 am (UTC)Good luck hon - job hunting totally sucks :-(
Squee? Sheesh. *gg*
I'm a little excitable about Doctor Who :-) And intelligent thoughts will be around tonight when I'm not at work or totally knackered.
{{{{{{{{ hugs you }}}}}}}}} Damn things hurt.
Thanks, hon. How is your shoulder doing now? I'm probably just looking at one of my usual slight dislocation things, but I will get it checked out if the stiffness doesn't resolve itself in a couple of days.
I Luuurrrrrrve new pens. :-p
This is a lovely new Parker fountain pen. Good weight to it, lovely smooth writing, different nib to what I usually go for but I'm already adoring it. And, um, I might have managed to write a couple of pages of Serpent Sequel due to the inspiration :-)

Date: 2006-05-16 07:05 pm (UTC){{{hugs}}} Although lack of pain in the area sounds like an improvement, even if you don't have full range of mobility.
Driving is not a pleasant activity, let me tell you.
I know that feeling, although in my case it's severe back and leg pain.
Am also waiting for the doctor to send his report to the state so I can get authorization to see the chiro and the massage therapist.
{{{hugs}}} Getting treatment for these kinds of things seems to involve jumping through so many hoops and ticking so many boxes that you end up wondering whether it was worth it. And sometimes they make you try half a dozen other treatments before admitting that it's worth checking what's wrong and then attempting a couple of other treatments.
Nope, not at all feeling resentful about these things ;-)
I'd ask you if you'd like something, but you'd probably say Weir/Teyla *bfg* and I don't think I have a good grasp of the characters, not enough to write them, anyway.
*g* If you were a regular Atlantis femslash writer then I probably would ask for Teyla/Weir, but I know what you mean about not knowing the characters well enough (I feel the same way about Sheppard/McKay) to feel confident writing them. Sadly, there aren't many regular Atlantis femslash writers :-(
I just took a quick browse through your LJ - your Doctor Who wp is gorgeous :-)

Date: 2006-05-17 07:07 pm (UTC)Which is worse, actually, because you have to use your legs and back to drive. The neck, yes, but not constantly there. I've had to contend with knee and back problems while driving but it's not constant like yours. :(

Nope, me neither. Money makes the world go round. :(

Like slash, there probably aren't many good writer either.

Date: 2006-05-17 08:54 pm (UTC)Unfortunately :-( The pain gets worse the longer I'm sitting, which makes long journeys unbearable - more than twenty minutes and I'm getting a lot of pain, forty minutes and I'm in agony. At the moment, getting stuck in traffic on highways where I can't pull over and get out of the car is causing a real problem. And it's rather limiting, really. And a little worrying in case a leg gives way when I need it for important things like breaking *sigh*
Still, had my MRI today so hopefully there will be a clearer course of action soon.
Money makes the world go round. :(
Grrr. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to be dictated by money? If we could do the things that make us happy and if we happen to have a talent for creativity or making other people smile, then that's enough to get everything we need to live in recompense? At our own pace?
Like slash, there probably aren't many good writer either.
Of the few that do write Teyla/Weir (and femslash in general for Atlantis), barely any are of readable quality :-(
Thanks. ;)))
You're very welcome :-) Planning any more? Not that I'm pathetically hoping or anything...

Date: 2006-05-18 06:56 pm (UTC)Seriously, sometimes you just get so frickin' annoyed and wish it would all just go the way you want. Dammit!
;)
As for more Doctor wps... yes'm. But erm... soon as I *choose* from the caps I made. I sit there and look at the pics and end up watching the ep again, then suddenly four hours later I realize I have done anything. ::sighs:: It's my secondary thrill atm, since I'm redoing all the pics I have for Intervals' chapters. I'm on this picture header kick, I think. Mind, I'm nowhere near as good at it as others are, like Skater, but if I'm satisfied, that's what counts. ;)

Date: 2006-05-19 01:22 pm (UTC)Absolutely. And that makes it even more depressing when reality crashes in with yet another problem.

*g* It's rather a distracting show, isn't it?

Pffft. I think your graphics are really good :-) I only wish that I had an eye for it the way you do!
