Big day nerves

selenayToday is the big day - I go to see the specialist about my back problems. And I'm rather nervous. Make that incredibly nervous.
It's crazy to be thinking that he'll laugh and throw me out, but I can't help worrying that he will. After all, my GP and the physio think the symptoms are odd for a woman my age so why shouldn't he?
The more rational part of my mind tells me that he'll at least do tests before laughing and throwing me out of his office.
The really stupidly overly optomistic part says that he'll find the problem immediately and I'll have a treatment plan by the end of the visit that will get me back to normal by Monday. Somehow, I'm thinking that's the least likely scenario of them all.
The good news is that the increased dose of painkillers that the doc has prescribed seems to be doing something - taking the edge off for about half an hour. And leaving me with increased side-effects in payment *sigh* Which isn't exactly helpful. I'm really hoping that the specialist can at least give me some better treatment ideas than this because I really have to get back to work next week - apparently HR might start kicking up a stink about sick time if I take any more. Goodie. So getting back to work is now becoming very, very urgent.
All digits are crossed, Mom will be arriving in fifty minutes to pick me up and then hopefully I'll finally get some answers.
In the meantime, I'm using up nervous energy by finishing the Teyla/Weir fic I started a few weeks ago.
