Dork moment
Jan. 12th, 2006 02:43 pmSometimes, it's really not obvious that I'm a fairly smart, capable person. Case in point, this morning.
I was walking down the hall to door off my floor. Looked up and was distracted by the woman walking towards me - slender build, long curly blonde hair and one of those faces that's both pretty and mischevious. She smiled at me, nothing more than a polite smile, but it distracted me from my purpose. Rather than returning the smile and gracefully opening the door for her, I smiled and walked straight into the locked side of the double doors. Cue a slow motion bounce off the door and a quick stumble.
Girl walks on with an amused smile.
Dork moment, n'est ce pas?
How do I manage to write complex SQL and design useful applications every day, yet manage to be a complete dork at the same time?
