Fun day...
Dec. 30th, 2005 10:11 amI made a solemn vow to the parents that, if it was snowing when I left for work, I'd stay home and call it a snow day.
Guess what it was doing when I left for work? And guess where I am? Unfortuantely, the answer isn't "at home". Darn. Too conciensious. Hopefully we'll get to leave early. The snow has now turned into rain, but it's still very dark outside.
When I eventually get home, though, I can't nap on the sofa - I have family coming. Not the family that had to cancel on Wednesday due to snow (they're trying again on New Year's Day), but the annoying family with the brattish cousin who doesn't have a volume control. Yay. Not.
Maybe I can retreat to my room for half an hour to 'unwind' from work. It's that or I might kill brattish cousin :-)
Ah, at least I get a Bank Holiday on Monday and can do a little slouching around :-) And we're making a trip to the second-hand bookshop tomorrow to get rid of some books and probably find some more books. And I'm seeing King Kong with
terrylbirch tomorrow, too.

Date: 2005-12-30 01:34 pm (UTC)Ooh, ohh, if you find any of the following (Principal Role, Dress Rehearsal, Back Stage, Vicki in Venice, The Secret) by Lorna Hill for £5 or less, can you get me them and I'll pay you back?
And I won't mention that our office closes between Christmas and New Year :)

Date: 2005-12-30 07:19 pm (UTC)I wonder, does peanut butter work on brattish cousins like it does on dogs? Just put a scoop on the roof of their mouth and they spend a good half hour trying to get it off? *g*
