They've offered me the job. I've got the weekend to decide, read through the contract etc. but I'm fairly sure that I'll take it.

I just plan to quit if they ever suggest that I work in the office that I interviewed in today. Not only is the office complex soul-destroying, it's also much further than it looked on the map and it's virtually impossible to find anything in the town. Good thing that I left incredibly early - I spent fourty-five minutes finding the office and afterwards another thirty minutes finding the motorway again. Bleh! Definitely don't want to do this drive every day.

I planned to go to archery tonight. Except I'm feeling so wiped from the drive that I may just give in and flump in front of the TV instead. Going to archery means getting in my car again and I'm not sure that I've got the energy.

Yay! On an entirely selfish note, it means we can go to Discworld :)

*g* No great guarantee about that yet - need to find out whether or no I'll be able to take my Canada trip when I want to and, if not, whether I can take the time for the Discworld con so close to my music festival time.

So, what job is it doing?

Insight analyst - basically a fancy kind of data analysis. There's some database programming stuff and a bunch of other numerical analysis stuff to do. The main reason that I'm a little ambivalent is that there isn't a huge amount of programming work, but at least there will be some and it gives me some financial breathing space. I can keep doing odds and ends of web work to build up a portfolio and I haven't locked myself into a career, I hope.

Yes indeed. The drive to where I'll be working isn't too bad, but the place yesterday was all on one of the country's nastiest motorways so I wasn't happy. I like driving on good, non-scary roads with decent scenery. That wasn't yesterday's drive :-(

Your poor little thing for living in Cheshunt. I've never been to a more depressing place in my life, not aided by forty minutes on the M25 going and returning. Nobody should have to live in Cheshunt. Definitely would quit if they tried to make me work there.

This is true, although I've found the trick is to get in quick (it helps that there are only three people in my department and I only have to make sure neither of the other two want the same dates off).
