The Untamed episode 10
Aug. 7th, 2020 03:03 pmOne episode last night, because I was late making supper and then Annie pinned me down for a post-episode snuggle that turned into a post-episode nap. CATS.
New characters! I'm going to state right here that I do not like Nie Huaisang's older brother. Between being awful to NHS and the ending where he threw Meng Yao out, he's earned my dislike very fast and very thoroughly.
I do suspect Meng Yao isn't a totally innocent woobie, there's a lot more to him than it appears, but I doubt he freed Xue Yang and Nie Mingjue should have listened to him. Although I also suspect Meng Yao has the skills to make sure he'll find somewhere to land on his feet. He might not be a warrior the way a lot of people in this are, but that doesn't make him powerless.
I'm with him on hating that commander, though. Ugh. What a total shit. I'd definitely believe he would free Xue Yang.
Speaking of, Xue Yang is interesting. Utterly ruthless and evil, but in a more interesting way than the evil Wens have been so far. I'm really intrigued by where he hid the Yin Metal piece.
The other new characters, Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen, were great and I'd like to see them again. Pretty confident they're good guys, and it was adorable watching our familiar group go all starry-eyed and fanboyish over them. D'aw.
(Is it wrong that I immediately assumed that they're together? Non-platonically? Was I picking up on the wrong/right vibes there?)
I'm honestly amazed at how on earth a place as harsh and intimidating as Qinghe managed to produced NHS, who is sweet and adorable (and very, deeply gay, that is not subtle at all). Maybe he's the way he is as a reaction to that place and his older brother?
Lan Zhan saying farewell to WWX (drunk, asleep on a rooftop, OMG what are you doing) so quietly and sadly was just...tiny broken heart here. This can't go well. I'm very worried for him.
I'm learning that there is a rule in these dramas. Every time the stoic half of the couple marches off to fight monsters/go to Dixing on their own, it goes terribly wrong and requires the chaos disaster half of their partnership to rescue them. Therefore I predict Lan Zhan is going to have a terrible time and WWX is going to need to swing in for a brave rescue/mutual rescue.
Please tell me Lan Zhan will learn from this and not repeat this mistake the way a certain black cloaked envoy did? My heart can't take that again.
