Isn't it just right that the rain comes down just as I leave work? And by the time I get off the bus, it's torrential rain with inch deep puddles all the way home. Soaked. Soaked, I tell you.
And isn't it just typical that this is the day when the postie obviously couldn't find the house and had to stand in the rain holding the envelope for at least five minutes? It's that or he dropped it in a puddle. End result: one travel insurance schedule, rather soggy.
Good things today:
- I was late for the bus. The bus was late. I therefore caught the bus even though I didn't deserve to.
- The company that I'm temping for has frozen recruitment for the position I'm filling. Would I like to stay for a few more months? Reply: "If you let me have the three weeks for my Canada trip, I'd be delighted." It's not a huge salary, but it's a guaranteed salary and it gives me some time to work on a portfolio and freelance work so that I can apply for jobs with some hope of getting said jobs.
- Travel insurance sorted for Canada trip. Whee! Should I need admitting for an asthma attack (not that I had one last time...), I'll be covered.
- Client thinks I have good visual design skills. Score!
- Got myself booked into an allergy clinic. It's not until after the Canada trip, but I'll be careful about not unfamiliar foods, carry antihistimins and it will all be good. Most importantly, I should soon discover what I'm allergic to and what the odds are of having anaphalxis the next time I eat that.
I'm starting to feel a little guilty about Stargate fanfic. Y'see, I haven't really had the urge or inspiration to write Jack/Daniel lately. Atlantis Teya/Weir I can do, but not the boys. Except in the guise of Jak/Denil, which I suspect may not count for many. Um. And when I'm not writing those pairings, it's Medreth and Y'Pennf, two of my original characters, who slither in. I should really write some classic Stargate fic, but there's nothing there. Sorry :-(
