New computer has now been paid for and I am not bankrupt, so that's good. Still need to set up a couple of things, but I have figured out how to sort out switching the Mcafee subscription (currently running on the 30 days free) from my old laptop, so that's something I will tackle during the week. Skype and the webcam are up and running and I have spell check installed on Firefox. I've got torrenting set up and spotted a TARDIS USB hub that I quite like and would help out with the ridiculously short USB cables on one or two things. Need to set up backups, but that can be done later this week when I set up the 1TB external harddrive that I've been meaning to configure for a while.

In other words, I think that I'm settled in and everything else is a bonus.

My vacation has been lovely. There was a day driving down the coast for yarn and tea, another day over in the city for shopping, mooching and an amazing lunch out. There has been veging out with books (Blackout/All Clear by Connie Willis and Changes by Mercedes Lackey) and videos. Today there was breakfast at my local eatery. In other words, it's been a vacation filled with my favourite things :-)

Tomorrow is the usual Sunday stuff (early walk, church, Skyping with family and friends, supper and rugby) and then I'm back at work. Boo. But at least I feel much more relaxed and I now have a computer that I can use to work from home so I won't be forcing myself into the office on days when my post-Humira ick is really bad.

Humira varies. Some weeks I barely notice it. Other weeks, I feel like I've got flu for two days. Ugh. This is a Humira week so at least working at home is an option again.

The parents are going away from Monday to Friday, so I've got some time to myself. That's going to be quite nice. Not that I don't love having them around, but I miss having time alone in the house and just sort of puttering around. So I get a few days of that and then Dad is back for four days before flying back to England. It's been great having him here and he's actually taken some time off to do things with us. He really needs it and he needs the days away next week being uncontactable: one of his employees is having a personal crisis and apparently sees him as the only person she can talk to about the work side of her crisis. So he's been counselling her over the phone yesterday and today. He'd just got all de-stressed and he's stressed again! He needs to be out of telephone range for a few days.

I'm a mixture of up to date on things (Spooks mainly) and a week or two behind on just about everything else. Ah, well, I can catch up on NCIS, Grey's and Glee next week and then on all the UK TV when Mum gets back.
