Grr, argh, gnashes teeth
Jun. 1st, 2011 12:48 pmSometime last night I woke up with stomach cramps. Not the ones that I got with the colitis flare, these were entirely new ones. Much higher, sharper and with a sort of burny tang to them.
Sadly, they did not go away and I ended up reluctantly working from home today because I couldn't straighten up properly or walk very far. Of course, the cramps got much better and were mostly gone by mid-morning. Argh. Can't decide whether it was the Tums or the gastric reflux meds that I took. I was taking the reflux meds while I was on pred but stopped them when the pred stopped. This is the second time that I've had something that felt distinctly refluxy since then, so I may need to talk to the GI specialist.
The first time was s few days ago after a glass of low acid(!) orange juice.
Last night, supper was spaghetti bolognese, which I haven't had in ages and I was probably on the reflux meds the last time I had any kind of tomatoey pasta sauce.
I'm going to experiment next week with another spag bol and if this happens again, I may need to discuss it with Awesome GI Guy. Not what I wanted to do.
It is like my entire intestinal tract hates me.
The cats think this is all quite brilliant. Kate can lie on me when I need to lie down to rest my back. Annie is cuddling on my lap at all opportunities. It's very cute.
Last night, Annie had a moment of klutz. She's usually my more graceful cat and rarely falls off things, unlike Klutzy Kate who could probably fall off a three-foot wide ledge. Now that the weather is warming up, I open the windows when I get home to get some air in the house. The cats absolutely love this and they run for the window the moment they hear the latch. Yesterday, Annie ran towards the kitchen window at full speed.
I'm sure she intended to stop.
What she actually did was over balance in some wacky way, thunk down on her bum and slide on her bum for the last couple of feet. It was completely hilarious.
I can't decide what was funnier: the sliding, Kate running away because it was noisy or Annie's WTF? face afterwards.

Date: 2011-06-01 05:59 pm (UTC)Our most spectacular cat klutz moment during the years of having a cat was the Siamese getting his angle of approach wrong, terribly wrong. What he usually did was race towards the TV, jump up on top then jump up on top of the loud speaker on the wall behind it. It worked perfectly when he approached the TV straight on but twice he got the angle wrong and instead of facing the TV and speaker head on he was going across the top of the TV, heading straight for the wall.
Not so bad you think? Well our TV is angled out from the wall so there's a triangular gap, wall, back of the TV, side of dad's stereo system unit and the cat was heading straight for the gap. He tired to stop, there was claw marks across the top of the TV where he tried to put the anchors out then he, not at all gracefully, fell head first down the triangular gap and got stuck, head down, tail end up in the air, him howling like a banshee and us crying with laughter.
There were two video recorders directly under the TV so there was no where for him to go and he was a big cat. We had to pull the TV forward, on it's stand, to give him space to get out of there. He was very miffed with us then a few weeks later he did it all again.
