The contract from hell ended on Friday. Yay! It's impossible to express how relieved I am. In fact, I was so relieved that I celebrated by having a major migraine yesterday. Go me :-)

This is actually a better sign than it sounds. I have something that the doctors labelled cluster headaches and apparently they can be rather confusing, because an attack will be triggered by stress but only appear when the stress has gone. Or something. Heh.

And best of all, I have another contract for around eight weeks with a company that I have worked for before. They're good people, the work is OK (already had my first day and I have no urge to kill anyone) and it's mornings only so I have time for valuable job hunting and website making stuff.

Plus I've possibly got my first website commission :-)) No pay, but it will be good experience and I'll actually have something on the web to link to from a portfolio, if I were mad enough to be considering having an online portfolio and associated scary web designer stuff. Y'know. If I thought that I might, possibly, have a stab at the web developer career thing.

Thanks :-) The possible commission is very cool - I hadn't thought that I could seriously have a go at the web stuff, but the one thing I've taken out of the contract from hell is the knowledge that I am actually better than many so-called developers. Maybe not a web guru, but after seeing some of the CVs the company was getting from applicants for their junior web designer role, I'm feeling slightly more compentant at that stuff than I used to. I can always find an up side to things if I look hard enough ;-)

And I like the icon - very pretty *gg*

Must've been a day for them. Me, too, only mine was stress and tension in my neck which resulted in a huge ice pick in the brain. I hate those. *g*

Ack, yup, they're nasty. I'm just hoping that I don't get stressed enough again for another full-blown migraine. Mega headache I can cope with. Nausea and flashing lights on top of the headache? Not so much.
