Jumpy? Me? Never...
Mar. 29th, 2011 07:49 pmJust had about half an hour of blind panic. There was a message on my voice mail that I couldn't quite make out clearly, but they were looking for crackly-sound MySurname to discuss my budget. And the company name sounded a lot like Humira, the drug that I'm waiting on approval for.
My response was to assume that my insurance had turned me down, the province wouldn't cover it and I earned too much to qualify for financial assistance so Humira was calling to find out how much money I had available to pay for my meds. Cue me trying to work out my monthly budget and see just how much I could afford before I cut into essentials like rent, food and gas. I did work out that, if I stopped paying anything into my savings and pension, turned off the cable/phone/Internet and cancelled the pet insurance then I could afford maybe half the monthly cost.
Then I listened to the voice mail again. It was from the oil company, looking for my mother to discuss her budget plan. D'oh!
I think it's time to retire with a book and a large slice of cake.
