I'm about halfway through doing the prep for my scope tomorrow. That means I've just had my second dose of poop-inducing icky drink and I'm on a clear liquids only diet until after the scope. As that includes beef broth and lemon flavoured jelly, it's not proving too awful so far.

In fact, the worst part is that I feel slightly nauseous today :-(

Last night was bad. About two hours of horrible cramping, multiple bathroom visits, and me whimpering quietly to myself at times. I'm still not bleeding much, which is good, but this is very uncomfortable and I'm incredibly tired today. Thank goodness we'll be getting some answers soon.

The bright side of last night is that today's potions haven't got much left to clear out.

One thought that has occurred to me is that, if the cramping etc. continue for long, I'm going to start having issues getting enough nutrients as well as keeping up my calories. I've lost enough weight now for it to be a bad plan to lose more, but what is going on with the other stuff my body needs?

I'm so glad that my GI guy wants answers fast. I have no idea how people put up with this level of ick (and apparently much worse) for months on end. Hopefully I won't be finding out!

To make the next 48 hours even more special, we've got a nor'easter heading in tonight, a window of no storms tomorrow morning (what a relief - my scope is in the AM), and then an even worse nor'easter coming in sometime tomorrow afternoon. The power company is warning of power cuts. Argh! Mum is making a thick, meaty chicken and veg soup today so that I can have something warm, comforting and easy to digest when I get home tomorrow if I'm up to it. I'll be so mad if we lose power before we can re-heat it!
