Weekend-y things
Jan. 10th, 2010 01:23 pmLast week I was shattered. No, seriously, but Friday I was at "world occasionally greying out, falling asleep at traffic lights" levels of exhausted. I really need to figure out some way of getting back from England that doesn't leave me with epic levels of exhaustion afterwards.
Friday night I had a plan with some friends for dinner and a Big Bang Theory marathon (several of us hadn't seen it before and needed conversion) but didn't trust myself to drive over the bridge and find the house of the friend hosting. Thankfully another friend gave me a lift otherwise I would have conceded defeat and stayed home. I'm glad I went because I now love Big Bang Theory and had a brilliant evening.
Yesterday I slept in, did some chores and then napped through the afternoon. The evening was a sushi plus Star Trek movie combo, which was fun and relaxing.
There may have also been hot chocolate. Yes, my idea of a good Saturday night ends in hot chocolate. But it was awesome, Whittard's mint hot chocolate which turns out to contain actual bits of mint chocolate!
Plan today was to do some baking and talk to parents and friends across the Atlantic. The baking has been scuppered by the discovery that I do not own any pans large enough for the brownies I'm making, and it's a new recipe so I don't dare mess with it yet. Hmm. Possibly need to check recipes more thoroughly before doing the weekly shop! I may stop in at the store and buy a new pan tomorrrow...
In summary, my weekend has been filled with sleep and laziness. Let's hope the coming week is a bit more productive!
