So tomorrow I begin my first temp assignment and my month of blissful freedom is over :-( It's been great, even if I haven't acheived all that I planned to. For the next couple of weeks I anticipate being thoroughly exhausted all the time until I re-adjust to the working schedule - don't worry if I don't update for a few days. At least it's an income and employers are bound to look on me more favourably if I show a willingness to work rather than sitting on my ass, waiting for the job offers to roll in.

I wish that I'd had more time to write, especially over the last couple of weeks, because there are still so many things that I want to do. The novel has doubled in length since the beginning of December, which is cool, but there are still a number of Teyla/Weir things buzzing around my head and the new original (please let it be short) story to finish. Hopefully those are things that I can work on with my laptop in bed rather than needing to sit here at the desktop. I haven't got as far with the PHP and MySQL as I'd planned, but I have plenty of weekends ahead of me. I also didn't get the wallpapers done that I wanted to and will have to find some time to play around with PSP over the next few weeks.

On the other hand, I've had a lovely month's holiday and feel relaxed and happy. Christmas was great, one of the best yet, and I managed to stay virus-free throughout. I've spent a lot of time with my family and we haven't killed each other. We're watching RotK EE tonight (yay!) and I'm determined to enjoy this last evening of freedom without getting depressed about the work thing tomorrow morning.

I've still not caught up on my emails. Or cleared the junk on my sofa. Or sorted out the stack of magazines under my desk. Bad me.

None of these are things that will kill me and I'd much rather remember enjoying my month than stress over the teeny details. Tomorrow I begin 2005 properly and I hope that it brings me the luck that 2004 did.
