Christmas and writing progress
Dec. 20th, 2004 05:25 pmI'm coated with glitter, I have three paper cuts and I've almost strangled myself on stray ribbon. Yup, I've wrapped the presents. This is a....bizarre feeling. I usually do this at around 10pm on Christmas Eve, sitting on my bedroom floor while my hips and back go into spasm. There have been years when I've had to finish the wrapping after midnight mass.
What happened?
I've also got one and a half Teyla/Weir snippets and I'm pondering when to post them. I'll probably finish the second snippet over the next couple of days, so they'll both be checked and ready to go by Christmas Eve. The debate is over whether I wait until Christmas Eve, offering them up as a Christmas present for thetwo people who want to read them, or post them up as soon as I'm happy with them. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.
In Mage Murder progress, I've done well this weekend:
Words handwritten today: 1,750
Total words handwritten: 23,500
I really need to get on with typing/editing this. There are notes all over the pages telling me to add stuff, change details and delete stuff. There are ideas that have been changed slightly to be more logical or less contrived, there are POVs that I want to change and details of scene and setting that I want to add. But I keep getting scared off by the idea of editing. Ack!
Off out tonight with the girls, having our annual Christmas drinks and present exchanging bonanza. We're hitting up the bar of a local expensive hotel, teetotaller me is designated driver for the tribe on this side of town and, shockingly, I've even remembered to write the cards several hours before I need to leave. Woo!
