Bored and thinky

I have had an odd thought. More of a complaint really. It's not directed at any particular show, but am I the only person who growls at the TV at couples who can apparently have sex while mostly clothed? It seems like lately, a lot of shows have scenes that are, supposedly, immediately post-coital yet both the characters are wearing at the minimum full sets of underwear.

It's happening on an increasing number of shows, it seems.

While I understand that it's possibly easier to shoot something intended for pre-watershed audiences with both characters full underweared (particularly if one or more participants are female), it's not completely impossible and it's happening on post-watershed shows as well.

I mean, think of the children! They'll have this bizarre idea that adults have sex while wearing full underwear and just never get naked!

Maybe not. But still, it's irking me because it seems to be happening more and more.

In other news, I am bored and trying to simulate interest in my work despite being tired and wishing for chocolate and bed. Bleh.

Yeah but what male actor would want to be naked in a post coital scene. They would be, how shall we say... past their peak?

It was an old episode of Hollyoaks (please shoot me now) that someone had linked to. John Paul and Craig had apparently just had sex...and were wearing T-shirts and boxers. The way it was filmed gave the impression that it was the immediate aftermath (and Craig couldn't get out of the house fast enough) yet they'd obviously taken the time to hunt out T-shirts and boxers before lying down for the post-coital discussion/freak-out.

Somehow, it didn't work for me.

This is leaving aside the women who apparently have sex while wearing the most uncomfortable looking under-wired contraptions that I just know would be bruising their ribs like hell with *that* amount of moving around.

There are strategically placed sheets and minimalist undies to give the appropriate impression on-screen without actually showing anything to the camera. I've been seeing men in T-shirts and boxers and women in such heavily underwired things that I wouldn't be able to just move around slowly and carefully, never mind have sex in the things!

I think about the weirdest things when I'm bored at work :-)

I can't remember what I was watching now but I remember that the other day I was thinking similar things. Or at least wondering why they'd had sex and the woman had kept her bra on. It just seems very unlikely given men.

That's exactly my point! Thank you for understanding me :-) I can understand the odd "it takes too long to full undress and we must have sex now so wahey" incident, but I seriously don't think that three quarters of all sexual encounters are like that. Particularly given the number that seem to make it to beds that look remarkably tidy afterwards ;-)

*raises hand* I had that idea, once upon a time (when I was about 7 or 8). Or at least, when trying to imagine what sex would involve, I couldn't imagine being naked around *another person*, therefore it would have to be done with clothes on and just a spot of unzipping here and there.
Don't know where I got that idea from, though, I didn't watch all that much TV those days ...
