Weekendy stuff
Sep. 24th, 2007 08:33 amToday is going to be absolutely horribly nastily evil *nods* I can tell this by the fact that it was foul weather driving in, my handbag fell in a puddle as I got out of the car (my book and iPod are sitting on my desk while the bag dries out) and half our reports have in some way broken today. Also, the data warehouse is being very slow. It's 8.30am, we've only been here 30 minutes and we've declared today a disaster zone. Huh.
The weekend, though, was absolutely lovely. Having finally finished my last ever French essay on Friday night, I posted it on Saturday morning and spent the weekend veging and enjoying myself. Nipped into town with Mum to do some banking on Saturday morning, but we decided to skip the banking and have coffee instead when we discovered a queue out the door and down the street. Grrr. I treated myself to some yummy Gu mousses that I sadly have to finish by the end of the week. What a hardship :-)
Spent the afternoon reading newspapers, watching rugby and knitting. And the evening doing about the same, substituting Casualty for rugby.
Sunday was equally lovely. I slept in (DIY neighbour waited until 10.30am before starting the drill) and had breakfast while watching Days of Our Lives. Ate lunch with the family and went for a nice walk in the afternoon, replacing all the calories we'd burned off by eating cream teas at the church afterwards. Darn that church sale. Then I updated the website a bit and did some writing - yay for writing! I even had time to read some Atlantis fanfic. Heh.
After such a stressful (*G*) day, I finished it off by watching the first episode of BSG S3 with Da and then this week's Gray's Anatomy. While knitting, of course. I have rediscovered cable.
So although today is a complete nightmare and I'm feeling very tired (as always these days), I'm actually feeling pretty cheerful and relaxed thanks to a rather nice weekend.
