Snowses!

This morning I got up, pottered around a bit and had a quick peek out of the window while I was in the kitchen getting my tablets.

Snow!

It was beautiful :-)

When I went out to get to the car, it made that fabulous creaking sound under my feet as I walked. I was the first person to be out there and it's a beautiful moment. The countryside, under the covering of snow and with dawn slowly lightening, was lovely. Everything looked like it had been sketched in pencil rather than being real, tree branches outlined but not quite completed.

Of course, the beautiful also had its downsides: our local council has decided to save money by...not gritting everything. So we had to go very slowly. Also the motorway was crazy.

The good news is the I got to work eventually. The bad news is that I got to work *pout*

There was a moment when it started snowing again and I almost decided to turn around and go home, declaring today a snow day (and then I'd be able to go outside to photograph how beautiful it was). Except it stopped after a few minutes and I didn't really feel justified when most other people would get in.

Still, snow! And I'm hoping it will start snowing again so that I can go home early :-)
