selenay: (kickass woman)
So far, I've had a very enjoyable and oddly productive weekend. I spent the day with [livejournal.com profile] terrylbirch yesterday and we had much fun doing very little and relaxing a lot. Yay!

Today the clocks went back and I managed to get lots of sleep without waking up with that 'bleh, fuzzy' feeling. Definite success. So far, I've done a surprising amount of stuff although, obviously, not everything that I want to do. Biggest success was getting the hotlink prevention stuff worked out on The Haven: quickly implemented the script suggested here and the site is now sending a message to anyone hotlinking graphics. Score! Obviously, if anyone starts having problems with the site I'd appreciate knowing. Just in case. I tested, but things always seem to slip by.

I've fed the car in preperation for next week. It's going to be a funny week - I'm out at a course tomorrow and Tuesday, in work Wednesday and Thursday and then it's the convention. [livejournal.com profile] yragg, [livejournal.com profile] sazzle_02, [livejournal.com profile] descended_sg1 and [livejournal.com profile] jill2708 are arriving Thursday and staying over with T, so we're plotting dinner parties and chocolate fondue. I'll be popping over to T's for breakfast, possibly, on Friday before visiting my ex-colleages at the housing association for a while and then fetching [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42 on my way to the con. I'm starting to get highly excited :-)

My next job for the day is to get the badges printed for the con - nominations for badges are now closed, but I do have people on my list who didn't request badges so odds are that flisty friends will have one if they wish to claim one. Then I'm going to do some fic writing - hopefully splitting my time equally between Serpent sequel and Teyla/Weir ('cos I suspect that I'll get killed on Thursday if I don't *g*).

Weekends definitely need to be longer.

Badges have been printed, ready for putting onto cardboard, cutting up and laminating. Have come to something of a stall until I can get mother to buy some card while she's in town on Tuesday. But at least the printer didn't stuff up, which was my chief concern.

The OU French course that my parents and I have signed up for starts this week. In preparation for being away next weekend, I decided to get a head start on the work. And, er, finished all of this week's work. In two hours. Um.

On checking the dates for our assessments, however, the parents have discovered that a trip to Canada next September may not be feasible. I'm going away for a week in August and I'd been already been thinking that I wouldn't be able to make my holidays work out for a two week trip in September and would have to put it off until October. With my parents possibly changing their travel dates to October, this joint trip is starting to look like a possibility again. Hmm. If we decide to go with mid-October travel dates then it's possible that some of the things that I'd been considering not doing next year might be possible after all.

The convenience of it is scaring me.

Still haven't done any writing yet today. Huh.
