Finally some Stargate squeeing

Yesterday was a good day. I actually managed to write some of my project report, but that wasn't what made it a good day. The good part came in the evening - everyone went out, leaving me with an empty house for a few hours. Woo!

I made good use of my time :-) There was the inevitable celebratory Chinese food. 'Cos I couldn't resist the lure. And then I caught up on my TV watching.

First up came The Bill. Which I enjoyed. ( Spoilers behind cut )

After that, I had two weeks worth of Stargate and Atlantis saved up to watch. Four hours of Stargatey goodness and I couldn't resist :-)

And then I had the two-part opener for Atlantis, which I enjoyed greatly. ( Spoilers for Atlantis 'Rising' )

The only slight problem with Atlantis was that it triggered thoughts about a new fic. I have too many things that I'm supposed to be doing at the moment, so a new fic is the last thing I need. It's not an Atlantis fic, though. That Five Things fic I did a couple of months ago? The exiles Thing? The 'packing up to go to Atlantis' scenes got me thinking about a continuation of the exiles idea. It's not the first time I've thought about it, but it's the first time the plot bunny has bitten that hard. Not going to write it. Not. Not.

The last good thing from yesterday is slightly silly. I got an email from my local archery company (who I'd inquired with a couple of months ago) about the next set of beginner's courses. I have to take one before I can join an archery company and I've wanted to learn since I was a kid. So I've sent off my form and cheque and in January I will be taking my first steps to becoming an archer. Go me :-)

Um, wha-?

I have really got to get used to the new three week limit on book borrowing at the library. £5 in fines is not how I planned to spend most of this week's fun money ::pout:: The fact that I'm an ex-librarian who really ought to know better just makes it worse. How did I let them get that overdue?

It seems to be officially autumn today. The leaves have suddenly turned, we've got a ton in front of the garage (um, we're not sure how because there ain't an trees in the near vicinity) and the wind is doing the English blustery near-gale thing. It's rather nice. It would be even nicer if I'd just remember to wear a hat to keep my hair out of my eyes :-)

I'm hungry, but I heard Mom mention 'new recipes'. This means that supper is going to be a super low cal, low fat, zero taste Weight Watchers recipe meal. A girl can get pretty darned bored with it. Maybe I'll indulge in Doritos or something afterwards to make the tastelessness go away.

I remember food with taste. I ate some last night. It was gooood...
