It's another of *those* mornings

I am having another of those lovely Mondays that regular readers of this thing know to well. Drat.


My good mood from the weekend just evaporated because I made the mistake of calling my ex-car insurer. That accident that I had more than two months ago, the one where my car was repaired within a week and I paid the excess, still isn't sorted out. The other insurer admitted liability five weeks ago and my ex-insurer....still hasn't got the paperwork sorted out to send to them so that they can raise the necessary cheques. The girl I spoke to just now implied that they're only actually making calls to chase for things when I speak to them. Hooray. I was informed reliably more than two weeks ago that they were just waiting for an invoice from their finance department for the garage repairs and then they'd send everything over to the other insurer. He claimed that it would take at most three weeks before everything would be finalised. Hmmm.

Methinks I'm getting the run-around.

So I shall be calling again on Wednesday to chase them again. In the meantime, I need to speak to my new insurer, explain the situation and see what can be done about the no claims discount information that I thought I'd have had weeks ago. Grrrr.

I suppose this is what I get for changing insurers before a claim has been fully settled. Remind me again why we pay such extortionate fees to these people?


In other news, I watched the Grey's Anatomy season finale last night and it was traumatic. Woe. Why do I let shows like this do that to me? I'm kind of a the not really caring about Meredith and Derek (just get back together already and stop with the moping), but Izzy had me teary and I adore Christina/Preston to little bitty pieces. I have obviously lost my mind.

I have a new theory that nothing in 'admin life' is ever easy. When there's money involved, all parties will make the process as painful as possible, in hope that you give up.

That theory sounds about right *sigh* But I won't be giving in, damnit, but it's going to be mucking up my insurance records if it doesn't get resolved. The stupid thing is that my ex-insurer stands to gain around £1,000 if they ever get their paperwork sorted out. Considering how quick these companies are to get money out of us, I can't understand why they're being so slow at actually getting some money for themselves this time. Bleh.
