Fanfic thoughts and writing progress

metablog. Very cool. It restates all my rants against inappropriate or unnecessary sex scenes in fanfic, only it says it all better. The LJ-er isn't anti-sex, but she doesn't see why people should apologise for not writing the sex (and yes, I have had a "but where's the sex?" complaint) and argues that people shouldn't feel compelled to put in sex where sex is not needed. If I see one more good fic ruined by a clunky, badly-written sex scene that yells "obligatory sex scene" in every word, I may have to scream.
I worked on Mage Murders again today. Didn't get much college work done (bad Sel), but when the house is quiet and peaceful due to a lack of sister, writing has to be done :-)

Yes, I am still having to extensively re-write as I type. In fact, what I typed today may as well count as new words because I barely used any of the words on the paper in front of me. The names and the outline of what I wanted to do are there, but everything else is completely new. I hope that I don't end up rewriting everything this much because it could take a long time to get anywhere.
Strangely, I am not indulging in Chinese food tonight. I'm going to the chippy instead :-) Oh, the joys of no parents for two weeks. Actually, the joys of no mother for two weeks. I eat healthily most of the time, but I love my evil takeout and I only get to have it when the mother is away.
