Just a quick drive-by
Oct. 17th, 2006 10:47 amI stayed with a cousin last night, so I'm borrowing his computer this morning to make a quick drive-by posting. I'll be back in Halifax tomorrow anyway, so full details then, but I'm still alive and travelling has been great :-)
Last night was really good fun - some cousins came round that I hadn't been expecting to see and we all pigged out on Chinese food, which was very cool. I'm now wishing that I could just move here right this very minute because it was so good to see people last night. I found a cousin who's only a couple of years younger than me and we got on really well. I met his mother years ago but barely remembered her, but we met again last night and and also got on really well. We've already decided that we'll have to get together regularly when I move over because she also lives in Halifax.
We've stayed in some lovely places, eaten far too much seafood, been intimidated by American border guards and not managed to write any postcards yet, so it's been a great trip. Tonight we're staying at another B and B, paying a trip to a sugar camp in the morning and probably arriving back in Halifax tomorrow.

historyterry: Like the new LJ name and I think Jude will work :-)
The only slight shock after several days of virtually no news? Um, North Korea. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is just posturing and we will absolutely not be at war in a few days.
