Weekendy updatey thing

selenayWeekend was mostly quiet, which was lovely.
Except for the pure terror that was driving on Saturday afternoon. A horrendous downpour started at around 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Guess who decided she needed to go out then? Then drains couldn't cope with the volume of water, so there were numerous flash floods some of which were worryingly deep. I saw one idiot who had obviously decided to drive his rather low slung sports car through the floods too fast and was sitting in the water, hazard lights on,, looking miserable. Poor idiot. It was a bloke, though. We girls are sensible enough to know that you slow right down and attempt to avoid splooshing up the water into our engines.

terrylbirch to the supermarket with me for food shopping. By the time we left the supermarket, the flood waters had gone down and everything was starting to dry out. Typical, really.
Yesterday was also quiet - lunch out with The Girls, a walk by the Thames and then home to do a surprising amount of French followed by an hour with a good book and then some daft sci-fi watching with Da. Very nice day. It's amazing how much you can get done when you don't turn on the computer and get sucked into LJ reading :-) Maybe next weekend I'll attempt the same kind of thing, but with some writing included.
And now it's Monday. And nothing is working correctly. But my jobs all got kicked off early so I'm hopeful that despite the problems, I'll get things done earlier than usual on a Monday and therefore be less stressed. I may even get out of here at a sensible time. But I don't want to get too hopeful :-)
