I've discovered that buying wedding cards is almost as difficult as buying sympathy cards. I loathe the flowery, sentimental cards and cutesy cards bring me out in hives. This isn't too much of a problem with birthday cards - I go for a nice, simple image with minimal writing or, failing that, tasteful humour. Lately I've taken to making my own using photos I've taken and people actually like them.

Wedding cards? They're meant to be emotional because it's a big, emotional thing. I spent about half an hour debating it, changed my mind three times at the cash desk and have a card that I'm still not certain about. There were no simple, classic cards with minimal writing and humour is just too subjective *sigh* At least the gift is bought and I have my lift to the actual thing sorted. Just gotta remember how to wear heels - apparently trainers aren't appropriate *g*

The weather is offensive, but I've been at the computer all day and feel slightly happier about the research project. [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42 has been sending me loads of recs, so the archive will have lots of new stuff when I update it. I've not been so good about getting recs together, but I have got a lot of college work on and I've been working on fic. That's my excuse, anyway. And the recs I've been coming up for are lovely novel-length ones.

I thought about writing something intelligent, but my brain exploded three hours ago. I'm going to end Chinese food instead *g*
